Go to the FCC Website:
Create an FCC Username and Password:
If you don’t have an FCC account, create one. You'll receive an FCC Registration Number (FRN), which is required for the license.
Login to ULS:
Use your FRN and password to log into the ULS.
Apply for a New License:
Once logged in, select Apply for a New License and choose ZA – General Mobile Radio (GMRS).
Complete the Application:
Fill out the form with your personal information and review the details.
Pay the Fee:
The GMRS license fee is $35 for a 10-year license. Pay securely through the ULS.
Wait for Approval:
Your GMRS license should be approved within a few business days. You’ll be notified via email.
Start Using GMRS:
Once approved, you can legally operate on GMRS frequencies. No exam is required.
Your license covers your entire immediate family, so they can also use GMRS radios under the same license.
